TCVM Canine Nutrition

I started studying canine nutrition when I got my first dog, Zeus. I learned quickly that if I wanted him feeling his best, he needed to be eating real food.

That question turned into years of study. I’ve spent the last two years immersed in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, and earned my Certificate in Canine Nutrition through the Companion Animal Sciences Institute.

Food as medicine

TCVM views and uses food as medicine. Knowing the effects different foods have on a body is a powerful tool when it comes to healing through nutrition — and it’s the lens I use to tailor every diet to a dog’s specific needs, traits, and health concerns.

In practice that means starting from whole, natural food sources and then formulating with Traditional Chinese Medicine principles: foods and herbs carry their own energetics, and the right ones are chosen for the state your dog is actually in.

I know canine nutrition can feel overwhelming with the amount of information out there. Whether your dog currently eats store-bought food or homemade, I’m here to help you sort through it so you can feed them a fulfilling diet with confidence.
